Neeraj Maskara

Neeraj Maskara

Posted on 17 December 2008 by admin

Neeraj has been a familiar face and a noticeable dancer in many congresses around the world. In the last couple of years he has become an increasingly popular instructor and performer in the salsa scene. Born in India and a management consultant by profession, he currently lives in Genevaand enjoys the balance between being a workaholic and a salsaholic.

He has, in a very short time, created a name for himself all over Europe . As an instructor he is known for teaching moves that are original, smooth, continuous and dynamic. He has a unique way of teaching which is not only fun but also logical, easy to follow and to learn. Those who have attended his workshops would surely admire the way he is able to teach the little details in technique, music and movement which makes all the difference in the way you look and feel while dancing. Whether its turn patterns, footwork, body movement or any music interpretation, Neeraj is known for his precision and clear explanation of everything he teaches. As a performer, he always manages to capture the audience with his choreography and expression. He not only demonstrates cool moves, dynamic body movements and great choreography but he also manages to leave a lasting impression on you with his friendly and fun-loving personality.

There are four points of Contact between the Man and the Woman when dancing Salsa.

  1. The Man takes the Woman's Right Hand with his Left Hand.

  2. The Man places his Right Hand on the Woman's back.

  3. The woman places her Left hand on the Man's shoulder.

The only Latin band from Kolkata

The only Latin band from Kolkata

Posted on 16 December 2008 by admin

orientexpress

We are a Latin, Latin Jazz band. The music we play ranges from original compositions to Latin and Jazz standards, contemporary jazz to jazz rock. From Coltrane to Weather Report, from Autumn Leaves to Santana, we love playing it all. The idiom is Latin, but the canvas is wide open. We have our own sound, and we are the only ones in the country doing what we are doing. We are the only authentic Latin band with Congas bongos, Timbales Guido Clave and the whole battery of Latin Percussions. We've been playing together for 2 and a half years and wherever we've played, the reaction has been, "We've never heard anything like this before!"
